IF they do nerf shadow form, i dont think they'll completely get rid of the concept of perma's. I think think they'll add 50% slower movment or something along those lines. If they did kill perma's off for good so many people would quit GW.

They'll come back eventually. They always do.

Playing a game just to farm again and again is quite dumb, anyways.

for example, if you kill perma, you end up with people running old obsi/stoneflesh/sliver splitters and 600/smite combination or any other solo split, and that is not gonna be much slower or solve speedclears.

Unless you wanna kill most of builds that can solo...
Pretty sure obsidian tanks weren't nearly as powerful as shadow form tanks. I'm also pretty sure 600/smite can't do a full HM UW run in 33 minutes.

I remember how everyone was saying if ANet nerfed ursan, many people would quit. Most of the players I saw on this forum who said they were going to quit...never did. Also, farmers quitting is barely going to change anything. Guild Wars isn't pay to play, so ANet are losing absolutely nothing but some PvE players. All PvE really is now is a single player game with the ability to play with others, so I don't think ANet are going to lose sleep over PvE players quitting.

I couldn't agree more. but permas allowed everyone who has a spare charactor slot to do a lot of high end things, not always as a SC... If a-net decide to nerf SF then the highend areas would again (like before ursan) only be done with super organised guild groups, and not every guild does those sort of thing.

Pretty much the only pugs that are formed these days include perma(s). And from what i remeber (i could be wrong, my memory is quite bad =/) very few pugs were formed before permas/ursan (at least groups with a combined IQ of more then a watermelon), so why would that be any different now. would a-net want to create a GW with almost no pugging?

Yeah but ask my question. I'm Mr A-net, why should I care about John completing UW in 20 minutes instead of 40? My goal is to make money. GW is not a pve competitive game, it used to be a pvp game. You'd be right if there were monetary prizes or there was a focus on PVE, but there isn't. Right now pve is just a way to keep people interested so that they might buy GW2. Of course pve needs balances, but these balances are done to keep people constantly interested and not because " glowing sword is only for Leet guy" or "this area is only for player of 400IQ or above". Besides I've never seen a mob complain because he died.

A person running imbalanced overpowered builds won't affect your playstyle (unless you party him lol), this whole Pve is too easy crap never convinced me. You want some challenge? Go with 6 people, or enter an area with 5 skills or anything else. I don't see the need of posting on a forum acting like some sort of guru (I'm not being personal, I'm just talking about a general attitude of posters on this forum) englighted by the light of a thousand years of PVE while the rest are a blob of mediocrity.

My 2 cents.

By this logic, GW1 would become desolate after having nerfed everything to death and all the servers would have left are some retarded kiddies running amuck, asking whether they should bring Healing Breeze, Mending.. or BOTH on their missions.

If PvE is "a single player game with the ability to play with other people" then why would anything need to be nerfed anyway? If it's a single player game, no one should be QQing about other people playing the way they want.

As for the farmers leaving not costing Anet anything... you're not thinking long term, and your PvP vs. PvE hostility is showing. Most of the players are PvE and if Anet does something that drives them away, it costs them player goodwill and, subsequently, those players' purchases of future products. There are a LOT of farmers, and if they all ragequit, Anet will feel it, even if it's a minority of the sales overall, 100,000 out of 1,000,000 is only 10%, but they'll feel that loss.

And that's ignoring the fact that it's not generally the PvPers who buy extra accounts for muling/permapre storage, etc...
